Welcome to RATC

Regional Agricultural Training Center (RATC) is government owned organization under the Directorate of Agricultural Training, Department of Agriculture, Ministry of Agricultural Development. It was established in 1968 AD named as Gandaki Zonal Agriculture Development Plan by the His Majesty's Government (former) and German Government. Later on 1979 the plan was accomplished and transferred to the His Majesty's Government (former). At 1980, it was renamed as Regional Agriculture Training and Service Center with the aim to concentrate the government and donor efforts towards human capital development for the food security and poverty reduction. Later as per His Majesty's Government (former) Cabinet decision renamed as Regional Agricultural Training Center (RATC) in 1988. Due to the home war in Nepal, RATC, Khairenitar was abandoned by the Royal Nepal Army (former) on 2062.01.20. RATC then took its place in one building of Regional Agricultural Research Station, Lumle. Kaski and had shifted in its own building located at Dumribot, Pokhara on Shrawan 2068. It has an area of 70 ropani of land in Pokhara Submetropolitan-5, Dumribot, Kaski. RATC, Pokhara has facilitated the service delivery of different issues of agriculture and development in an effective way throughout the Western region of Nepal. Agricultural training programs were scattered across the region through different organizations and now are streamlined under the single umbrella of this center to nationally prioritized production programs for food sovereignty and poverty reduction. RATC, Pokhara has been organizing different types of trainings programs for agricultural technicians for the enhancement of their skill and capacity, and leader farmers who directly involved in agriculture to boost the production and economic livelihoods.
